The Sun rotates rapidly in the opposite direction to the Moon's orbit, thus giving the terms/directions moonwise and sunwise instead of clockwise (moonwise) and counterclockwise (sunwise).
The Sun is at the center of the world, 1.04 miles across, and illuminates a circle about 5160 mi or 8305 km across. Near the Sun is incredibly hot, and the Sun magically creates incredible downdrafts, constantly, thus inverting the air currents of what would be expected due to heat. The downdrafts bring this very hot air straight to Subsolar Sands, a large island right below the Sun that's too hot for civilization.
The Moon, a slightly smaller sphere exactly 0.98 miles across that changes color as it orbits, starts white then a color for each axolotl god. It takes 200 days to orbit. Changes color every 25 days at midnight, takes 8 total colors one per god, for 8 months of 45 days thanks to the clean numbering. But the Axolotl gods are dicks who made the moon system in what seems to be a rush so every now and then completely randomly the moon just wont change colors for a month, thus skipping a color and making one color twice as long. The Moon creates updrafts that send the air back to the sun, as well as strong currents in the global moonwise direction creating more complex weather systems.
Because the Moon makes updrafts and the Sun downdrafts, air is in a massive global cycle, warm air from the Sun is pushed down along the ground outwards and at the edge of its light the Moon picks it up and sends it inwards, because this cycle has hot on bottom and cold on top, chaotic weather systems emerge as they mix unevenly and as the Moon orbits and is in only one place at at time, and creates the moonwise (clockwise) global vortex. Its a very simple way to create very complex weather systems.
The Moon in its white sector, note the dark underside due to the updrafts pulling dirt from the ground up, and the high speed dust blowing past at high speed.
