Everyone speaks English. Each area has different accents and dialects that get spelled and written differently, some may have replaced Th with T, some may have made ea into a, etc.
When the world was made each Axolotl god got to make a language,
Lucy gave Humans the language the gods spoke, English, it went on to outcompete the other 7 over the centuries.
Goldie made the fairies language, Íll'klx̌axathaxx̌empə.
Bluie made the mermaid language, Oovumal.
Cyanie made the Neanderthal language, Franch.
Wildie made another human language, one for the people who lived in the wasteland, Aahhaaaahh, because you can barely hear over the wind.
Mosser made the language of the Denisovans, Denisovan.
Swagxolotl made the language of... "the epic swaggy guys" he insisted a set of 1k of each species be put on an island to coexist and they all speak "Swagxolotlian", he named the country "Swagland" and made them all "Swaggy", the people there immediately ended up fighting because mermaids inherently have vastly different needs to the land based humans, neanderthals, and denisovans, who have different needs than fairies, and after heated debates the state collapsed into war and Lucy had to nuke it because the language started becoming just swears.
Buffxolotl made a language he spent 8 straight days designing in the hopes of it becoming the language of philosophy, science, and deep conversations, called The Language of Learning, Īnteλīɣenßa dje Ɣløßa, gave it to a town of people, and the town was nearly instantly wiped out by a flood caused by Mosser and Bluie feuding, he then decided to refine it some more and give it to a new town, which was then blown up by a stray rock from a Wildy temper tantrum, he and Lucy then had a stern talking to with the other gods about the fact they can't keep killing people, and he gave it to a final largeish town alongside a bunch of free starting knowledge, the language spread and was preserved but eventually the language became obsolete as people switched to English out of convenience as English was becoming the lingua franca.
