Nationcide of Swag Bay

Beginning in the year 1533, the Lucy Empire began a strong propaganda campaign against the small city state of The Swag Bay City Republic, a small city state in the Goldie slice of the Playground, that happens to be near the Lucy Empire. The Lucy Empire (supposedly) wanted access to the bay's ports because they had a province inland from Swag Bay, and Swag Bay (supposedly) was charging expensive fees to access the port.

Some important context of Swag Bay, Swag Bay was a local power, it had outsized influence in the part of the continent it was in, it had a capital and some surrounding towns and hinterlands, the bay itself was shielded by some barrier islands, and it had a population of about 483k, it had a floating island castle called Fort Quinn Island that was a worldwide known tourist attraction well loved by everyone, people could pay to take sightseeing rides on it. Fort Quinn Island was nearly 700ft diameter with a smallish castle on top.

The Nationcide

At midnight, as the Moon changed color from pink to yellow, in the year 1534, The Lucy Empire hijacked Fort Quinn Island by flying some people up there on small hot air balloons and stabbing the operators. They started flying it out over the bay, the ground crew in charge of managing flight control over the region sent messages to Fort Quinn Island telling it to come back, to which the hijackers responded "We will, do not worry."

Swag Bay scrambled it's air force, consisting of a fleet of skywhales and balloons suspecting the island was being stolen. At 0:25 in the morning, just 25 minutes after it was hijacked, Fort Quinn turned around and started moving back to the city, however, it was moving extremely fast, as the hijackers had figured out how to disable the island's speed limiters. At 0:32, the Swag Bay Air Force got beside the island and began attempts to board, now suspecting a possible terror attack. However, all ways to land on the island had been blocked off.

At 0:43, the island crashed down into the city center of Swag Bay City at roughly 400 mph, the explosion could be heard from up to 150 miles away, and the entire city center was leveled, Swag Bay called upon nearby allies for help immediately and called upon it's military, they even asked the Lucy Empire for assistance, not knowing the Lucy Empire was the culprit.

Shortly afterwards, the Lucy Empire flew warskywhales over the city airdropping incendiary explosives across the nation, and stormed across the border, Swag Bay sent it's troops to guard the city outskirts. The Lucy Empire had sent in almost 100k troops, and Swag Bay simply didn't stand a chance.

By 6 in the morning as the Sun was turning back on, already the number of deaths were estimated to be over 10k, and by 8 Swag Bay was crushed. Everyone in Swag Bay was rounded up and forced to watch as the entire city was blown up and razed. What followed was systematic "Japan In Nanking"-ing of Swag Bay, as well as torture for sport of men and women.

Lucy Empire elites were actually upset at the actions, only expecting an invasion and extreme show of force, the actions committed were so horrific every commander and soldier that participated in the atrocities was fired.

Aftermath

The Gods immediately rocked the Lucy Empire with meteors, firestorms, tsunamis, and quakes. Davenstone (at the time still a major player in the region) landed ships and warskywhales in Swag Bay, their army of 30k was at the time still a major force and with the Gods nuking the fuck out of the Empire, the Lucy Empire did retreat. When the smoke cleared, Swag Bay was practically nonexistent, every single building in the city and nearby towns was leveled, roughly 4/5 of the population was dead or missing (the population was down to around 97k), the city center was a crater, the bay itself was so warm from the bombings the life was gone. Upon seeing the state of Swag Bay, The Gods decided they hadn't finished obliterating the Lucy Empire, so they pummled it for nearly 2 straight days, "Until half the Lucy Empire heartland looked like Swag Bay".
